Technologies

The Technologiesarrow-up-right page provides an organization-wide inventory of all technologies detected across your assets. It shows which web frameworks, server software, CMS platforms, JavaScript libraries, and other technologies are running on your live hosts — along with version information and outdated software alerts.

How Technology Detection Works

When Ryft runs reconnaissance scans, it fingerprints the technologies running on your live hosts by analyzing HTTP response headers, HTML content, JavaScript files, and other indicators. This data is aggregated across all your domains to build a comprehensive technology inventory for your organization.

Technology detection runs automatically as part of every scan — no additional configuration is needed.

Technology Inventory

The main view shows all detected technologies with the following information:

  • Technology name — The name of the detected software (e.g., Nginx, React, WordPress, jQuery)

  • Category — The type of technology (Web Server, JavaScript Framework, CMS, CDN, Analytics, etc.)

  • Version — The detected version number, when available

  • Version status — Whether the detected version is up-to-date or outdated

  • Asset count — How many of your assets are running this technology

Filtering and Searching

The page provides several ways to narrow down the inventory:

  • Search — Filter technologies by name

  • Category filter — Show only technologies in a specific category (e.g., Web Servers, JavaScript Frameworks)

  • Status filter — Show only outdated technologies or only up-to-date ones

Expanding Technology Details

Click on any technology to expand it and see which specific assets are running that technology. Each asset entry shows:

  • The asset URL or hostname

  • The detected version on that specific asset

  • When it was last seen

Summary Statistics

At the top of the page, summary cards show:

  • Total technologies detected across your organization

  • Total assets with detected technologies

  • Outdated technologies count — technologies running versions with known newer releases

Why Technology Tracking Matters

Knowing what technologies run across your attack surface helps you:

  • Identify outdated software that may have known vulnerabilities

  • Respond faster to new CVEs — when a vulnerability is announced for a specific technology, you can immediately see which of your assets are affected

  • Maintain an accurate asset inventory for compliance and audit purposes

  • Spot shadow IT — technologies deployed without your security team's knowledge
